Red/White 2018 meet

Hello Killer Whales!

It is going to be an exciting week as we kick off our competitive season!   This Tuesday evening (June 5th), we have the Red/White Meet. Individual photos as well as the team photo will be taken Tuesday evening.  Please carefully read the information below about this week’s upcoming events.  Please note that all swimmers will be gathering together for the team photo to be taken together at 4:45 pm.  The virtual team photo will not be built this year.  We are going back to the “old-fashioned” way of taking the photo.

We can’t wait to see all the amazing and fast swims at the Red/White Meet.  Additional e-mails will be sent as more information becomes available.

Picture Day Tuesday

TSS Photography is pleased to be photographing the Killer Whales again this season. Please wear your team suit.

Individual and family photos will be taken beginning at 4 pm.   Everyone needs to arrive by 4:45 pm  to begin lining up for the large team photo.  We will not be putting together a virtual team photo this year.

Additional photo ordering information will be sent as soon as we receive it.  Thank you for your patience.

Red/White Meet

Warm-Up for the Red/White Meet will begin at 5:30 pm and the meet starts at 6 pm.  We are looking forward to this fun evening.  There will be pizza, drinks, and general concessions for sale as well as Killer Whale Spiritwear!   Please remember to  bring  your swimmers snacks, lots of  beverages to stay hydrated in the hot sun, a couple of towels, folding chairs for you, sunscreen, and a few small toys/activities to entertain your swimmer.  Please have a black sharpie to write your swimmer’s number on their arm.

The Red/White Meet is a great opportunity to get a feel for how the meets are run.  Since this is the first meet, we use this opportunity to work out any issues that may occur.   If for any reason, you cannot fulfill a volunteer position that you are signed up for, please contact Meredith Schaller at mee4w@yahoo.com as soon as possible.

Swimmer Numbers

Swimmer numbers are now available.  To get your swimmer’s number(s), please log into your registration account.   On the left side of the screen, there are boxes you can select. Please select the option called “swimmers”.  After you have selected this option, a listing of your swimmers will appear. Your swimmer’s number will be listed beside their name.

For all meets, please make sure the numbers are written on both arms, large and neat. The timers need to be able to read these numbers easily. Please write SV above your swimmers numbers as other teams may use a similar numbering system.  Please no ROMAN NUMERALS or adornments ex: smiley faces and curly Q’s around the numbers.

National Anthem Performers Needed for Home Meets

We are looking for some talented swimmers to perform the national anthem at our home meets.    We have had singers as well as instrumental groups.   Our home meets this year are Red/White – this Tuesday,  June 19th (Seven Oaks), July 10th (Cary Park), and July 17th (Apex Breakers).   Please let us know if your swimmer is interested.  Spots will be filled on a first come first served basis.

Swimmer Times

Swimmer times will be posted as soon as they are manually entered.  Meet times are posted a few days after the meet. To see your swimmer’s times,  please log into our registration system.  From your account, there is a menu to the left of the screen. please select the Meet Results option.  This will allow you to view your swimmer’s results from each meet. If you check on the subscribe button, the system will automatically send you an e-mail when results are available.  Please note that coaches use times as a GUIDELINE only to put the meets together.  They recognize that times can sometimes be recorded or entered incorrectly. If you see a time that is wrong or missing, and you know the correct information, feel free to email the coaches to supply that information.

Spam Filters

Please check your spam filters to make sure that e-mails from the TSA Swim Team Manager [tsaswimteam@gmail.com]; on behalf of; system@tsaswimteam.com are not blocked.   E-mails from this address are from our registration system and contain very important information such as swimmer times, volunteer information, etc.

Drink Donations

This is a friendly reminder. If you did NOT pay the “beverage donation opt out fee,” please remember to donate drinks for the Red/White and our three home meets. Donations can be a chilled 12 pack of soda, water or gatorade. We find that coke products sell best.

There will be a check off list at the concessions table to keep track of donations. Please mark your name off the list as you drop off the drinks

First Day of Practice

FIRST DAY OF PRACTICE: Monday, May 14th!

The coaches and the SVST board are very excited to start another great summer! Please bring extra towels and warm clothes as it may be cool in the evenings. We encourage everyone to wear goggles and if your swimmer has long hair, a cap can be very helpful!

You can find the practice schedule link, in the menu bar.  There you will also find links to all events for the season as well as just the meet schedule.  The first 5 events will be listed in the Upcoming Events section on this page.

If you have a swimmer that is 14 years or older that would like to help our youngest swimmers during practice, please contact Coach Margaret for more information (maggiemac10@nc.rr.com).  This is a great opportunity if your teen needs to earn volunteer credit!
