Head Coach Margaret Geiger
Margaret Geiger grew up in the Raleigh area swimming for New Wave and MOR. This will be her 10th year of coaching. Coach Margaret has been fortunate to have the opportunity to coach for many wonderful teams in North and South Carolina, and to work with kids ranging from the preschool to High School level. She is currently the head coach for the Shepherds Vineyard Killer Whales swim team in Apex as well as the head coach for St. Mary’s School swim team, a private high school for girls in Raleigh. Margaret also coaches Triangle Fitness at SMS in the Fall and Spring seasons and is an assistant swim coach for the Marlins of Raleigh where she works with the 11&under Age Group. Margaret first developed a love for the sport when she started swimming Summer league at age 4. She swam year-round competitively through high school and still enjoys swimming today. Her specialty/favorite stroke was and always will be breaststroke. She enjoys working with swimmers of all ages developing skills, and spreading interest for swimming. Margaret looks forward to another Summer with the Killer Whales helping every athlete work toward achieving their individual goals!
Matthew Zeleskey has been a swimmer for ten years with two years of coaching experience. He was on the Cardinal Gibbons High School swim team for all four years and has been given the coaches award on both the Cardinal Gibbons swim team and Shepherd's Vineyard swim team. He is currently studying computer science at Kansas State University, while also participating on the school's club swim team. Coach Matt is ready for his third of coaching and can't wait for the summer!
Emmarose has been a part of the Shepherds Vineyard Swim Team for the past 15 years. This year will mark the first full year of just coaching for her, although she did coach part-time for the team last year while she swam. She currently is attending and swimming collegiately for Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. She primarily swims Freestyle and Backstroke, but has immense experience with all 4 strokes
Meg Giuliano, a rising junior at Apex High School, has been swimming since she was nine. At ten, she began swimming year-round at MOR; three years later she moved to TAC, where she qualified for high school Regionals and competed at the Senior Championships in Charlotte. Meg enjoys working with kids and was a volunteer coach at Shepherd’s Vineyard for three years. She plans to pursue a career in coaching and is excited to join the coaching team this summer.
Carter Bilbro is a graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High School and is a rising freshman at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he will be studying Business. He is thrilled to be swimming and coaching this season for Shepherd’s Vineyard! This will be his 13th season as a Killer Whale. Over the years, Carter swam competitively for the Marlins of Raleigh and Cardinal Gibbons. He has also played aau basketball for the last three years in addition to five years of rec ball.
